have voltage fluctuations. Inverter ACs handle mild
voltage variation more gracefully than non-inverter models because their
compressor runs at variable speed rather than switching on and off at
full load. They also consume 40–60% less electricity compared to
non-inverter models, which matters given Nepal’s electricity tariff
structure.

For areas with frequent load shedding or unstable supply, pairing any AC
with a voltage stabiliser is strongly recommended to
protect the compressor and avoid voiding the warranty.

Choosing the right tonnage for your room

Undersizing an AC forces it to run continuously, shortening compressor
life and raising electricity bills. Oversizing wastes money upfront and
causes humidity problems. The general rule for Nepal’s climate:

• 1 ton — bedrooms and small rooms up to 130 sq. ft.
• 1.5 ton — living rooms and larger bedrooms, 150–200 sq. ft.
